attachments saved to file share

Trying to see if Confluence or even JIRA can be a front door to our dropbox-like file submission that will need to save files to a network share. Does anyone know if this is possible with a add-on?

I prefer not having a secondary backend copy process since some of these files may be large.

You can, but the file structure won't make a lot of sense to people browsing the file share, and it must be read only for other people, they won't be able to add or update files in it.
