Why have search results changed in Confluence 5?

As I remember in Confluence 4, search results showed pages and other content from all spaces when using the search box in the header with menu items. It did not matter if you used the search box when viewing the dashboard or any other page within Confluence. The results showed global content.

In Confluence 5 using the same box when viewing an page in a space only results in pages and other content from within that space. When viewing the Dashboard and performing a search, this results in global content

Is this correct?

And why has it been changed?

How can I perform a global search from within a space? I do not want to perform a seach and then change the box "Where" to "All spaces". It just seems not logical for users in general.

I don't see this behavior in 5.1.3.

OK, we are using 5.0.1.
