Why can't I see Space tools in the sidebar for the space?

Why can't I see Space tools in the sidebar for the space? I have admin permissions. Is Space tools a configurable item for the Confluence admin?

Hi Gail,

Being a Confluence admin gives you rights to administer the Confluence instance, but not necessarily individual spaces.  By default, the admin group is given space admin rights when a space is created, but these space admin rights can be removed.

You can change the default space permissions that are given to every new space at General Configuration > Space Permissions.  You can see and manage the permissions for every site space on that page as well.
