Why are queries and links not resolving in pdf export

Kim Clark January 29, 2025

In my Confluence page, I have JQL Queries, links to Jira tickets and links to Jira releases but those are not resolving in the pdf export which has worked with no issues in the past several months. What would be causing this issue to occur?

Hi @Kim Clark

It seems that a series of recent Confluence updates is causing multiple issues with PDF exports.

People were reporting broken CSS customizations, missing content elements, or PDF export always exporting the entire space instead of selected pages. The common denominator is 'things worked just a couple of weeks/days ago'.

I suggest that you contact Atlassian Support - after you fill in a couple of details, you should see the option to start a live chat with a real person. That's the fastest and the most efficient way to get things moving.

As a temporary/emergency measure, you can try using Scroll PDF Exporter, it is known to produce much better results than the stock exporter and is is easily customizable.

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with the app vendor (K15t) but I was using the app and know it's a go to solution if PDF exports are a part of people's daily routine.

It sounds like a recent Confluence update or a Jira integration issue might be causing this. I'd recommend checking the Confluence release notes, verifying your Jira connection, and reviewing your PDF export settings. If that doesn't help, reaching out to Atlassian support might be a good next step.
