I'm in charge to gather information of the department and to build a Confluence for 8 departments. First of all, I was focused on a single set of parents and child pages, but yesterday a woman from Atlassian partner organisation tols me to have separate spaces for department and Pages for central information.
Does it makes sense for you ?

It might be a good Idea to give the departments their own spaces. :)
Might give them the feeling to „have their own piece“ of the Confluence and they might be motivated to cultivate e content. ;)
Maybe there are topics where you would want to create spaces with no o a department and having the context of a product or projects where then multiple departments are collaborating.
