Hi @Jens Biegert just wanted to know if this worked for you. I was looking for a similar kind of functionality.

Hey Jens,

Currently we don't have a build in feature to mention groups and we already have a feature request raised for that end:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23015

My suggestion is for you to vote for that feature request and add your thoughts in there so we can increase it's relevance.

As a work around you could use below third party plugin add on, which is free, and seems to enable that end:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/ru.andreymarkelov.atlas.plugins.spacementions

It was developed for Confluence 5.2.3 - 5.4.4 versions, so in case you are on a lower version you will need to upgrade Confluence. If you are on a latest version above that try downloading and updating the add on manually to see if it works.
If it fails then you will need to mail the vendor for a latest version of the plugin at andrey.v.markelov@gmail.com.

Hope it helps.
Thanks and Regards,
