What is the difference between user last login and user last session in Confluence?

Alan Pearman April 2, 2015

The User details page shows an entry for Last Login and one for Last Session.

Sometimes the dates are different but mostly they are the same.

What is the difference, if any?

Hi Alan,

Judging by our documentation to retrieve the last login from an user I would say that:

Last Login: last time the user login to the app.

Last Session: Last entire session from that specific user.

So, let's suppose an user logged to the app at 1PM and he's last session was 8AM. The fields would be different, however, if the current session (1PM) terminates, it will be updated as the last session and the number should be the same.

I might be wrong and if the behavior is different, then could be a bug in the application, but let me know your thoughts.

Cheers,

Rodrigo
