What is the best way to present tabular data in Confluence?

So, we have a lot of stuff in Google Docs -- mostly spreadsheets -- that we want to migrate into Confluence.

What's the best way to do this? It seems difficult for Confluence to display tables. There is a .csv importer macro, but it appears not to be compatible with 4.x. Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone solved this problem before?

The csv macro works with Confluence 4.x in compatibility mode and soon with native support - see https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/TBL/2011/09/19/Confluence+4.0+compatibility+for+Table+and+other+plugins

Hi Bob,

Can you describe how to make the csv macro work "in compatibility mode?" Thanks!

"compatibility mode" means that you can only use the macro via the "insert wiki markup dialog" - it doesn't yet work with the rich Confluence 4 editor.

There's also a commercial plugin from AppFusions that allows you to embed Google Docs & Spreadsheets in Confluence pages - Google Docs in Confluence

We looked at this, but we don't have Google Apps as an institution.

Not ideal, but you can embed a google doc in an iframe as well:
