What functionality is going away?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: View File Macro

This page says the View File Macro is going away, and refers to a page about the better way to insert Office docs. But that method only works when the confluence-view-file-macro is enabled. What's actually going away? Are there multiple macros being called View File?

Hi Jason,

Just the way that used to work is being deprecated. Previously, you had to attach the file, insert a specific macro and then select the file to be rendered.

Now you don't need to that. You just need to attach it to a page and Confluence will render the thumbnail.

So the View File Macro (confluence-view-file-macro) is not going away?
