We are unable to make tables "responsive"

When we are creating tables in Confluence, we are unable to make them responseive causing the cells to display the information as "squished" is there a setting to fix this?

Welcome to the community.  By default tables are responsive in the new editor.  Are you copying the table in from a different application?  How many columns are there?  Can you share a screenshot?

Yes, when I copy tables from Excel, I sometimes have to go into the source code to clean up. Coming from Word is even worse.
