Do you have anyone using IE8? If so then it will break for them when you go up to 5.7. IE8 stopped being supported in 5.6.

Hey Pudi,

Also remember to check the plugin compatibility using our bundled tool: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/UPM/Checking+Add-on+Compatibility+with+Application+Updates

It's good to verify whether all plugins you're currently using are supported on the targeted Confluence version before upgrading smile

I hope it helps

Hi Pudi,

I would suggest you to upgrade your Confluence manually and you can directly upgrade to Confluence 5.7.
Before you upgrade please backup :

  1. Your External Database.
  2. Your Confluence Home Directory.
  3. The Confluence installation directory

You can get more info regarding Upgrading in the below Documentation:

It's also a good idea to read the release notes for each minor release in between - 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 etc. Just in case there's something in one of them that may break something on your setup. (Unlikely, but it can happen)
