Variables in Confluence 5.9.10

Danish Mistry June 22, 2016

I'm creating a product specifications template and trying to insert a list variable into my form.  I'm following the documentation, and can't seem to be able to add variables to my form.

There is no drop down to add a variable in the form, and when I prefix my field with $ it doesn't work either.

Are variables supported in this version of Confluence?

When you are in a template, type $variable name - DO NOT HIT Enter, but instead select the text in the dropdown.

Then you can select the variable, and it will give you options to set dropdown values.

Thanks, I discovered this late last night, works exactly as mentioned.  The problem that I had was around the permissions in the space which meant that I couldn't set up a space template.  But all sorted out now.
