Workaround: Use IE browser //never thought in a million years I'd say this.
I don't know if this is Google's problem.
Hi Paul,
This is noted in another Atlassian Answers post: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/26640921
Chrome has verified this is an issue with their 32 bit browser as explained here: http://support.gliffy.com/entries/96400607--Aw-Snap-errors-in-the-Chrome-browser
Please make sure you are using the latest version of Gliffy which is v6.8.4 and have followed those troubleshooting steps. If you have further questions please email support@gliffy.com.
I can't speak for Balsamiq but I expect their issue is the same.
Thanks,
Katy
Hey Paul, I'm really sorry for the trouble you have been experiencing recently.
We are having the darnedest time reproducing this. I'm running Google Chrome 46.0.2490.86 in a Windows 7 VM, and I haven't managed to get it to crash yet.
Just to make sure I have the steps right, you create and attach the mockup to the confluence page, but then you navigate away from the page before saving it. Is that correct? Do you get any type of warning message when you attempt to navigate away?
I'm sorry again for any frustration this is causing you, Paul. If this is something we can fix, we want to get it fixed asap.
No, no. Just create the asset (ui or mockup), save and return to confluence, and then hit save on the new confluence page...navigate away from that page and return. It crashes within 1 sec. I just tried it again against the same two pages. You get the chrome error page, "Aw, Snap" Something went wrong while displaying this webpage....". We all have high end 16 GB RAM machines so memory is not a problem. I've rebooted another colleague's machine and was able to reproduce this from his machine as well. I can only come up with 4 confluence pages (they are in the same confluence space) yielding this bad behavior. All of them have either a UI mockup or a diagram from Gliffy - one each - and no other text is present on the confluence page. Also, the four pages in question all have Gliffy or Balsamiq assets created this week so maybe something in the handoff from the plugin to Atlassian had an issue.
This community is celebrating its one-year anniversary and Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes has all the feels.
