Upgrade to 4.3.2 leads to all users are visible

Christian Neureiter-Schneider November 14, 2012

In version 4.2 we could only see the users which where at least in the user group confluence-users. After upgrading to 4.3.2 we could see ALL users from our LDAP. From our 7000 LDAP users only approx. 150 do have an Confluence account at the moment - hence most of the people we can find are not relevant for Confluence users. Is there a way to limit the results again as in 4.2?

Hi,

This is most likely to be a result of a bug that was fixed in this release: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-6404 (release notes here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Confluence+4.3.2+Release+Notes)

This results that even those users who have not yet logged in to Confluence, but has the ability to do so, will have their Confluence profile created, thus appear in the people directory.

To avoid this, the best way is to create an LDAP search filter that will only pull those users who you want to see in Confluence. More information about writing such filters can be found in the online documentation:

Kind regards,

Peter
