Unreliability of URL structure in forums

Laura Morris May 26, 2016

Hi,

We have a forum where the URLs are being automated in two different ways and we’re not sure why.

Some of them are appearing with this structure: /pages/viewpage.action?pageId=12345

While others are using this structure: /display/category/example-title-automated

As this is a confidential forum, we need all of the URLs to display in the first structure. At the moment they are about 50:50 between the two, but we can’t see any difference in the way they’re set up which would impact their URLs. It isn’t an issue with URL reserved characters as this is inconsistent with the results we’re seeing.

Thanks!

Laura

It's almost always down to odd characters in the name of the page (it's not url reserved characters, it's almost all punctuation!).  Could you give us some examples of page names for ones that work and ones that don't?
