Hi ,
We are trying to integrate Opsgenie to Jira software using the sync feature. We would like to move the alerts/incident from Opsgenie to under an epic in Jira software project. When we checked with a Jira company managed project(with admin access) we were able to see the epic link option under "Rules for taking action against alerts". However our current Jira project is a team manged one(with admin access) and when we try to use the sync feature we are not able to view/add the epic link. Kindly help us on how to move the Opsgenie alerts to under an epic on Jira.
Regards ,
Sampath
You're encountering difficulties integrating Opsgenie alerts into Jira epics using the sync feature in a team-managed project.
The issue stems from differences between project types. Company-managed projects offer more extensive epic functionality, whereas team-managed projects have limited features. Specifically, the "Epic Link" option under "Rules for taking action against alerts" is unavailable in team-managed projects, restricting the Opsgenie-Jira sync feature.
By identifying these differences and exploring other solutions, you can effectively integrate Opsgenie alerts into your Jira epics.
To get rid this limitation, consider the following solutions:
- Convert your project to company-managed to access full epic functionalities.
- Create a custom field to represent the epic and use it in Opsgenie-Jira integration rules.
- Utilize Jira labels or components to group related issues.
- Implement Jira automation rules to associate incoming Opsgenie alerts with the appropriate epic.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
