Unable to grant user permission for Confluence

Roy Hubbard June 4, 2014

A new user has been created in the system, the user can access Jira but not Confluence. Under the User Management page in Site Administration, the Application Access checkboxes for both Jira and Confluence are greyed out (Jira is already checked) and the following error message is displayed:

Confluence (Error communicating with Confluence: Unknown Content-Type: text/html)

Hi Roy,

Based in your description, I believe that you're hitting this problem: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/AOD-6988if you're using our OnDemand service, I'd encourage you to create a support case that way our team can handle it.
If you're using standaloe version, I'd make sure that the user that you just created belong to the confluence-users group.

Cheers,
WZ.
