Unable to edit Confluence User Profile fields such as Position and Department.

We are managing Confluence users from Jira, and have integrated with Active Directory.

Our AD User Directory defined in Jira has the option "Read Only, with Local Groups" enabled under LDAP Permissions. This option is preventing users from being able to edit their profiles.

If I un-check this option and set as "Read Only", the user can update their Confluence profile fields, however I am no longer able to add a user to any Jira security groups.

Is there a way to globally map fields from AD such as Job Title and Department to user fields stored in Jira/Confluence? Thanks!

Hello there Paul! Currently, this feature is not present natively in Confluence.
We have a feature request that has been closed that aims at this:
