The best practice of Confluence Cloud for parent and multiple child companies.

Jeff Chen December 16, 2018

Hi,

Our business has a company structure like parent company has multiple child companies. Child companies run different kind of business, and have their own company structures.

What is the best practice for setup Confluence Cloud for this kind of multiple layer company structure ?

Thanks.

Hi @Jeff Chen,

If I were you I would let them each work within their own space and setup the page trees as they need.  Some organizations might want to have multiple spaces, if that is so then you could use space categories to organize the spaces a bit better.

Within a space you can restrict the view permissions so that organizations can't see others information if that is necessary.  Within the page structure you can also limit what other users can see and edit.

Overall I would recommend looking at some of atlassian's blog posts about best practices to get a better overall feel for how Confluence should be used.  It's imperative to train your users on this early and often so that the instance doesn't become a mess.
