Text editor

Some time ago, the text editor changed in the Confluence Cloud. Is it possible to use the old one?

Hi @Technical writer

It depends on the age of your Confluence site.

When creating a new page, you'll be provided with a list of templates to use - for our site, there are two options:

  • Blank Page - this uses the new editor
  • Blank Page (old) (going away soon) - this uses the legacy editor

If you don't have the second option, then your only choice is to use the new editor when creating a page.

Then the alternative is if you have an older page which was created using the legacy editor, this page continues to use it during edits. You can copy this page (3-dots in top right > Copy) - the newly created copy will also use the legacy editor.

If neither of these are an option for you - the new editor is the only choice.
