The upgrade itself took only a few minutes but the initial startup is in its 4th hour migrating tasks and tables. We've done many upgrades over the years, and not seen one with such a sizeable, slow migration on startup.

We just went from 5.5 to 5.6 and it did in fact take about 3 hours.
As long as the log is plugging away, you should be good!
we are planning an upgrade from 5.4 to 5.7... tests took around 6-7hours...

Thanks Andy. It took just over 3 hrs. We have a large instance. Spoke with Support. There are a lot of table migrations between 5.4, 5.5 & 5.6 and a major restructuring of Tasks.
