Security concern: How to hide comments/names/email addresses from anonymous users on public spaces

sara_oconnell February 12, 2021

Anonymous users on the mobile Confluence app can see comments, names, and e-mail addresses on our public spaces.  This is a security concern.  On the desktop app, the Viewport add-on takes care of that, but it doesn’t apply to the mobile interface.

Is there any way to hide that information in public spaces on the mobile web and phone apps?

Hi @sara_oconnell

I'm not sure the details on your Scroll Viewport theme, but many are responsive, so they would work on mobile.

So, if your mobile readers go directly to your Viewport site URL, instead of using the Confluence Mobile app, all this information should be protected.

Thanks, Matt.  My hope was to find a secure way to allow confluence users to access our sites via the mobile app, since the mobile app is easier to use on a mobile device.

Currently, asking mobile users to access the site via the web appears to be the only secure solution, unless there is a way to improve the security of the mobile app.
