Search against dynamic content

Abraham Tom February 14, 2018

Is there a way to search on pages that are fed in by REST API call.

I have a data dictionary that queries via REST my metastore; which is neat.

But I have discovered that the default search on Confluence will not find any of the content from the REST call.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly.

But if you want to make some custom data searchable then the easiest way is to store it as custom content property of some existing content (page, blogpost, comment) then the property will be automatically indexed and become searchable in REST. See https://developer.atlassian.com/server/confluence/content-properties-in-the-rest-api/ for more detail.

There is more complicated way to store data that is independent from any existing content objects but then you need to create an extractor to get it indexed so it become searchable. See https://developer.atlassian.com/server/confluence/extractor-module/ for more detail.
