Restricted view pages and watching a space - clarification needed

Dave_Harrington October 12, 2016

If a user makes themselves a watcher of a space, do they get notifications regarding pages in the space for which they don't have viewing permissions?

A related question - which could be more important, based on the answer to the above - Is there a way to prevent a user from being able to watch a page and/or space?

Thanks.

Q1 if they are watching the entire Space but aren't included in the Page View Restrictions, they do not receive notifications about that View Restricted page

Q2 User's can select/deselect what Spaces and/or pages they watch.  So no, you can't prevent them from doing either.

In any case, Confluence is a Knowledge Management System ... knowledge is only knowledge if people know when new knowledge has been created or old knowledge has been edited smile
