The Atlassian Community can help you and your team get more value out of Atlassian products and practices.
We are seeing regular entries in atlassian-confluence-security.log:
"Directory 'Active Directory server (1441793)' is not functional during authentication of 'joebloggs'. Skipped.""
There is also a long-open ticket ([1]https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-8867) pointing out that Confluence does not round-robin across AD Domain Controllers.
With around 50 daily active users, this is happening on average 3-5 times per day. Confluence and Active Directory servers are both in the same region within AWS, and our other applications hosted there do not have any such problems. Surely Confluence could at least attempt to retry the connection to the AD server?
It also appears that the Community seems to be the only way to access support; we pay annually for our Confluence license, is Community the only level of support that exists?
Hi @Steve Parker ,
welcome to the Atlassian community!
You can raise a ticket to the Atlassian team through the following link https://support.atlassian.com/contact/
Many reasons could cause your issue and they could not depend form Confluence itself (network, AD and so on). The main point is that this issue happens 3/5 times per day. Please provide all information to Atlassian team so that you can receive support on that.
Regards,
Fabio
