Refer the chart (chart from table macro) generated, as an image in another page

Shantharam September 7, 2023

In Confluence, I am generating a chart dynamically in my child page from a pivot table (basically fetching information from JIRA).

And in the parent page, I have 'Handy Cards' macro that has the child page as a card.

Now I want the card to have the chart of the child page as the icon or image. But the Handy Cards is not recognizing the chart as an image.  And I do not want to add a static image.

Is there any way by which I can indicate Confluence to treat the chart generated as an image with a label so that I can refer that in other places?

Hi @Shantharam ,
Thank you for the question!
I'm Anastasia from the Handy Macros team. We appreciate you using our Handy Cards from the the Handy Macros for Confluence app.
At the moment, if you don’t want to add a static image
we can suggest a workaround in the form of usage of chart from table macro and see whether it solves the need.
As for the last question, you will need to have an image, as functionality from creating page previews with charts is yet to be introduced. Still, we do have this feature request in our long-term backlog and I’ll be adding your vote for it.
Have a lovely day!
Best,
Anastasia

As I have already mentioned in the question description, I have tried using chart from table macro and then use that label in the Handy cards for the image. That does not work.

Do you have any approximate ETA on this feature? We have multiple requirements where we have to add dynamic images to cards.

Hi @Shantharam ,

We appreciate your activity with this request. It helps us better understand user needs and improve our app.

Unfortunately, we don't have ETAs for this particular request as it's still in the phase of interest gathering. As you've mentioned multiple requests for dynamic content used as a source for Handy Cards, you can contact us to discuss your request or schedule a call.
