Possible to turn off the "Request Access" feature?

Ed Jones May 12, 2014

We are in a similar situation to the comment made by "jackie" in response to the blog post announcing this feature;

https://blogs.atlassian.com/2013/09/new-in-confluence-request-access-to-view-restricted-pages/

Which is to say; we have restrictions in place for a reason. So we don't want people requesting access to pages to which they do not have access. Is it possible to turn this "Request access" feature off at all? I couldn't find anything at the page or space level that looks like it would achieve this, is there anything in the system admin insterface that does it?

Hello Ed, currently the Request Access feature is displayed based on the functioning described in the documentation:

If the request access message does not appear, you are not able to request access for that particular page. This usually is because the page has inherited restrictions from a parent page, or you may not have adequate space permissions.

Nevertheless there isn't such thing as an option to toggle it on or off, maybe this would be a good case to add a ticket to http://jira.atlassian.comas a Feature Request, in that way it can be evaluated to become something delivered in upcoming releases.

The feature has been created after this ticket, may be worth watching the one too.

Thanks. I created an issue to request this feature.
