Possible to SSO into Confluence from Windows Authentication

trevoc January 31, 2013

I have Confluence and crowd installed and working authing confluence > crowd > AD no problem.

But,

After users logon to windows, they still have to type in their AD username/password for confluence again.

Is there a way to have confluence attempt to authenticate with the users current logon.

we use a kerberos extension to work with confluence, crowd and AD.

Has benefit that once user has authed with confluence, they have a crowd cookie / SSO session and there is no more chatter to the AD.

Hi,

We are proud to announce the release of our new add-on, Integrated Windows Authentication for Apps using Crowd (IWAAC) at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.cleito.iwaac

IWAAC uses Kerberos to allow your Windows domain users to log into Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket Server, FishEye, Crucible or any other web app using Crowd as its user management system, without entering a password.

Please check out https://www.cleito.com/products/iwaac/ for more details.

Best regards,

Bruno

You can also just buy a working NTLM authenticator solution.

We sell our NTLM Authenticator for Atlassian Confluence for NZ$150 + fees payable to IOPlex - the makers of the Jespa library that does the NTLM magic.

This solution is in use by dozens of customers all over the world, works with or without Crowd, supports NTLMv1 and NTLMv2. Trials and installation instructions are available for free here. Our "hands holding service" is free too.
