Page comments are displayed in Edit mode when HTML Table encloses Confluence table

With Confluence 5.7.2 and Adaptavist Content Formatting Macros plugin v4.2.7

On Firefox 38.1.0 and Chrome 43.0.2357.132 but not IE11, a page containing an HTML Table macro (from the Adaptavist Content Formatting Macros plugin) surrounding a regular Confluence table displays page comments while in Edit mode. Additionally in Chrome the edit portion of the window is only a few lines high and difficult to work with.

The display of comments in edit mode is reproducible. The small edit window in Chrome could only be reproduced by the user who originally reported the problem, not by others.

To reproduce the problem:

  • create a page
  • add an "HTML Table" macro
  • inside the HTML Table, create a small Confluence table using the Insert Table icon
  • save the page
  • add a page comment and save it
  • reload the page
  • edit the page
    • comment is shown in edit mode

The page reload before edit is important. If you don't reload the page at that step, you won't see the problem on the first edit, but if you quit and go into edit mode a second time, you will see the problem then.

Need help from Adaptavist...

Problem still exists in Confluence 5.8.10 with Content Formatting Macros v4.2.9
