Maybe this will help for custom modifyable content, you must change some things due to new Confluence version: https://www.scandio.de/2011/03/confluence-pdf-export-titelseite-mit-dokument-daten/

This document is a good start: http://www.antennahouse.com/CSSInfo/CSS-Page-Tutorial-en.pdf

Also this page: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2015/01/designing-for-print-with-css/

The Atlassian documentation (https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/customise-exports-to-pdf-190480945.html) is not really helpful becauses it hides all comments from the last years.
With the mobile interface you can read those comments smile

=> If these variables need to be dynamic you must create your own user macro for this.

  • how to get page count like "page x of y"

=> content: counter(page) " of " counter(pages);

  • how to set custom font with css in pdf export. (we need verdana) in cloud

=> upload font file to a page, define the font in CSS with @font-face and then reference it like any other font

  • Background image of div not working propperly

=> can you explain in more detail: what did you do? what did you expect? what did really happen?

What do you mean with dynamic in this context?

To my knowledge user macros are not supported in the CLOUD Version.

I mean that you type the name of a variable and the system automatically adds the current value.

Edit: Yes, if it is not supported in the cloud version then this won't work for you.

You can easily add all of these to your header or footer using Content Exporter for Confluence addon. Here's a sample screenshot:

You can try out how it works online by exporting the documentation itself from its support site:
