Newly created groups in Microsoft AD is not reflected in Confluence User Directory

We notice that newly created groups in our Microsoft AD is not reflected in our Confluence User Directory. In addition to that, we also get the following error:

Our LDAP permission is set to "Read Only, with Local Groups"

We have exactly the same issue!! We are using Confluence 5.4.

I have raised a support-Ticket but no solution yet....

Thats really strange!! Sometimes we also get "group does not exist" message... JIRA (with exactly the same filter) finds that group...

Hi Alaine, I found this bug with the same error message: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23102

You may check your Confluence version and if it's earlier than 3.5.12, I believe that you'd need to upgrade it.

I have already seen this bug report and it doesn't cover our version. We are using version 5.3.1. Please advise
