New Users Cant See Issues Tab

Garrett McNeill July 10, 2012

I recently added Confluence. There is no "Issues" tab for any new users, only the Wiki tab; even when they have Issues assigned to them.

I keep getting the following error by email...

There was an error granting default application access to the new user '%name%'.

Hi Garrett,

This could possibly happen when you have run out of license. For example, you might have created 20users but you possess only 10user license for JIRA.

Below are few things that you might want to check.

1. As an Admin, navigate to Administraion -> User Management -> Users -> Create New User.

2. On the Create New User dialog, within the Application Access section, check the number of license remaining. It would be like "JIRA (2 remaining)", "Confluence (4 remaining)".

If JIRA indicates that there is "0 remianing" then you have run out of licenses. The user will only get Confluence access. To solve this purchase new license for more users.

3. If step2 is not the issue, then navigate to Administration -> User Management -> Application Access.

4. Look at the JIRA Access for these new users. If the access box is unchecked, then you will have to check these boxes to grant them JIRA access.
