New Mapping for 'k' Shortcut

Tyler Etters Jan 19, 2017

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: View Page Information

Is the 'k' shortcut to bring up the modal no longer functional? It isn't working for us anymore. It takes us to this page info instead. We miss the modal.

On my Cloud instance, pressing 'k' on a page in view mode brings up a 'Link to this page' dialog box (with link and tiny link URLs that can be copied).

Is that the one you expect?

In Cloud, you can check which keyboard shortcuts are available by pressing Shift+? when viewing a page.

Pressing 'k' on a page does not take us to the dialog box. Yes, this is what I expect. Please see attached screenshots. I have both what happens when we press 'k' and 'Shift + ?'.Shift ? Takes Us Here.pngk Shortcuts Takes Us Here.png

Hmmm. If you manually choose the "Link to this Page..." option from the actions menu (i.e. the three dots), does it bring up the correct dialog?

If it does, I assume it still says "Shortcut tip: Pressing k also opens this dialog box" at the bottom?

Have you tried using a different browser and/or clearing your browser cache to see if that makes a difference?

Do shortcuts other than k and Shift+? work?

Tyler Etters Jan 20, 2017

Manually choosing "..." > "Link to this Page..." does not bring up the correct dialog. It brings me to the same Page Information page.

I get the same results with an Incognito window, a different browser (Safari), and with the cache cleared or disabled.

Other keyboard shortcuts work as expected.

Strange. Do you have any add-ons installed which might be overriding/interfering?

Might be worth raising a support ticket with Atlassian on this one here:

Thanks for all your help, Sam! I opened a ticket.

@Tyler Etters - Did this get resolved for you in the end? I'm interested to know what the cause/solution was.

Tyler Etters Feb 02, 2017

No. It is an open issue here:

Marking this as answered, since it was a bug and Atlassian are now working on a fix for the issue on (currently at Technical Review status at the time of this comment).
