Missing detailed recent activity logs comparable to Mediawiki

Meekreau October 13, 2015

While evaluating Confluence as substitution of Mediawiki, the following features are heavily missing so far:

  • Recent changes log
  • Deletion log
  • Import log
  • Move log
  • User creation log
  • etc. (Further examples can be found via mediawiki/index.php/Special:Log page but are not that crucial to this point)

Also, Mediawiki provides great means of filtering the logs, which I find invaluable as user / administrator.

I've already had a close look at Recently Updated macro, but the amount of information it delivers is not sufficient. Consider the following examples:

  • A page is moved away from a space to another one -> this is not mentioned by the macro in the original space.
  • A page is renamed -> the page is presented by the macro under the new name only, so other users do not see directly that it has been simply renamed

Is there any possibilty to achieve comparable logging power as provided by Mediawiki?

Hi there,

In fact, there are certain audit logs that are unfortunately not available on Confluence.

We have a improvement request reported to develop better audit resources: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-6960

Also, we have available plugins on the MarketPlace, that can help you get more resources, like SpaceAuditor: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.vertuna.confluence.plugins.spaceauditor

Regards,
LM
