Lost content due to a hardware issue

We host our JIRA/Confluence application on a virtual machine in the cloud. Since we install the application on a windows server instance, we have been using both application without any problem.

Now, we have a big issue, because of a hardware problem on IBM (where the application is hosted), our application is no longer available and the status of our instance is unrecoverable

Do you know of any way of recovering data other than backups? do you keep monthly/weekly copies of the content? To be honest we haven't implemented backup policies yet and the last working backup is from May 17th.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I would be looking at your cloud provider as to what backups (if possible) they had taken or as to what agreement was in place. They might have a weekly backup that you can restore? However it sounds as though u might be out of luck , then u might have to go back to your last backup from may.
