Links within the Jira Filter Gadget are not https and don't work

Ben Radlinski November 25, 2019

Users recently pointed out that links to Jira in the Jira Filter gadget time out because they're trying to link to an http address and not https. I've confirmed that the application links are working between Jira and Confluence and everything looks good. It seems to be timing out (according to the Dev Tools panel in chrome) with no real error. Certs are all up to date. Is this a networking issue? Both my Jira and Confluence boxes are on AWS. Any ideas?

Turns out it was the application links. They said they were working but they were not being truthful (the link was http://****:8505 or something like that). I deleted the links from Jira and Confluence and then recreated them with the correct URL and it worked.

Is the application link http or https?  Could be that you set it up as http.

Yes, forgot to mention that I confirmed this as well. Links are set up as https://

And our base URLs for both Conf and Jira are https://

When you create them now are they going to HTTP or HTTPS?  Just wonder if these are legacy links or if the issue is still happening?

I tried creating a new page, added the filter with the same search and got the same result. All links are rendered as http://.
