Linking between confluence and third-party jira

Adrianna Kardaś February 11, 2019

Hi,

I've link my confluence instance with third-party vendor JIRA but while trying link from this JIRA to my confluence instance using "Find a confluence page" and choosing my server the space list is not full, the list is arranged alphabetically and ends right on the letter B while linking from my JIRA instance to Confluence loads the entire list correctly. What could be the reason that the third-party vendor JIRA does not display the full list of spaces?

Hello there Adrianna!

Could you clarify some points:

  1. What version is your Jira?
  2. What version is the third-party Jira?
  3. Is the user that you used in your Jira also present in the third-party Jira?

This could be due to permissions applied to your spaces:

Space Permissions Overview

Assign Space Permissions

What could be happening is:

  1. You link Internal Jira and Confluence
  2. You login to Jira with a user that also exists in Confluence
  3. This user has enough permissions to see all spaces
  4. You link third-party Jira and Confluence
  5. You login to Jira with a user that does not exist in Confluence
  6. The user does not have enough permissions to see all spaces

So, if the situation above is indeed what is happening you may need to change the permissions set for your instance so the third-party users have permissions to see the spaces.

However, this could potentially leave your instance open to access to the third-party users.
