Linking Two Confluences Instances

Karen_Mustain July 9, 2012

We have two seperate instances of confluence in our organization. One instance uses a MySQL database and the other instance uses a DB2 database. We are looking to consolidate the two instances; however, this is taking some extensive analysis, since the databases are not the same.

In the meantime, we have a business need to feature and leverage the networking (social media) type features of Confluence. We want to be able to utilize users networks on our site dashboard. Since we have two Confluence instances we had to select one the of the instances to be our primary instance where associates will use the dashboard from that instance.

Associates have personal spaces on both instances. Is there anyway to link these personal spaces together from both instances to get a consolidated look at a users network (following and followers).

Any suggestions on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Karen Mustain

Hi Karen!

Since your databases are not the same, the first step is to migrate the data from your DB2 to MySQL.

Please check this documentation

After that, check if both confluences are upgraded to the same version eg. 4.3.

Hope it helps!

Kind Regards

I created a suggestion for this use case, as I also would like to have it:

please vote it up if it would be relevant for you too.
