License Migration

chris weinhaupl September 23, 2014

We have a current server with confluence Version: 2.3.1 Build:#643.

I have built a new server with tomcat7, mysql5, jre1.7 and installed the confluence Version: 2.6.3 Build:#919 with an evaluation license.

My confluence exports are now over 2GB so I cant migrate the export. ( 2GB is a limit of the release).

I copied over the 'data' and migrated the mysqldump and updated the syntax to mysql5.

Things are look good so far.  I have a theming thing to figure out but no biggy.

It appears that the only way to move the license is through the 'export/restore process.  Unfortunately I am over the 2GB limit. I guess its a early software limitation not a Product limitation.

How do I go about moving my license?

Hi Chris,

I think that you have to only migrate Confluence data and then copy license key. If you migrate a DB, then are SEN and Server ID the same as on original (I hope).
