I conduct document reviews of PDFs in confluence. I used to be able to open the document within confluence, drag a comment icon to where I wanted it, and leave a comment. Once we transitioned to the cloud I cannot do this.
How do I leave a comment in the pages of an uploaded .PDF or .DOCX in confluence cloud?
Hi! 👋
Since you mentioned having trouble leaving comments on PDFs and Word docs in Confluence Cloud, I thought I'd share a tool I've been working on called Workflow. It's like Trello, but designed to make it easier to collaborate on and review various file types.
With Workflow, you can upload files, organize them, and leave comments directly on specific parts of the document, keeping everything in one place.
If you're interested in testing it out as a potential alternative, just shoot me an email at paul@workflow.design. No pressure, though - I just thought it might be helpful given the challenges you described.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi @John Harris ,
It is not directly possible to edit or comment on attached documents in Confluence Cloud. Some addons make the process easier, but in general it is more involved than on Confluence Server.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
I noticed that documents that were uploaded to Confluence Server brought the capability with them when we transitioned to Cloud. Which Confluence Cloud addons would give us commenting abilities? We don't need to edit the documents.
Thanks for your reply to my original post.
