Label and key words searches

Max Gee April 21, 2016

Hi, does anyone know much about labels and key word searches in Confluence please? Just wondering if a user searches for a particular term in Confluence and it triggers a label or key word, will it return results from everywhere or can you restrict the results to places the user is allowed to see? Are key word searches governed by space and page restrictions?

Search results will only return those pages that you have access to (i.e. they are governed by space and page restrictions).

If you search for a word, it will return results from all key words and from labels.

If you want to search only for labels, you will need to either use "labelText:label_name" (where label_name is the name of the label you are searching for), or in the newer versions of Confluence by clicking on the "Add a filter" link on the left side of the search results screen.
