Jira & Confluence: Variable Sharing & Syncing Between Both

J P May 17, 2022

Context: Across product operations there are so many variables...

  • Date... so many dates
  • Links... feature docs, press releases, help articles, prototypes, research efforts, etc.
  • "Dropdowns"...  statuses, risk levels, trend summary, personas, release types, verticals. etc.
  • People... lots of folks in different roles at different stages.

Question: Is there a way or a third-party plugin for "syncing" defined variables between Jira (epics or another issue-type)?

Confluence templates + properties + property reports are nice... as is the ability to create lots of fields in Jira... but is there a way to map a Confluence page fields to Jira issue + field so there is little-to-no double entry between the two?

I am not sure if this question belongs in the Confluence, Jira, or both groups.

@J P

There is nothing delivered in the products that allows for this.  I also do not know of any apps that provide that functionality.  I would suggest submitting a feature request here: https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa
