We use JIRA Software, JIRA Service Desk, and Confluence all together - where some of our users only have access to JIRA software, and all of our users have access to Confluence.
When making JIRA links in a Confluence article, our users that do not have access to JIRA software cannot see the links and are presented with an error on the document.
Is there a way to allow a non-JIRA sofware user to only see (not navigate to) the JIRA issue in Confluence?
It seems kind of crazy to have to add everyone to JIRA software as well and pay for the seats.
Your use case makes sense, but I am afraid you are running into a limitation of the products. Please vote and comment on Provide the ability to view JIRA issue to Confluence-only users to make your concerns known directly to the development team.
It doesn't handle it well, but the problem is that because your user can't see the issue, the link should not be followable
The only way to allow it is to make your JIRA publically readable.
