Is there any way that you can filter search results by a custom field ?

in Confluence, how can we use custom fields to refine our search results. is this doable?

Of course it's possible:

If you are searching in the basic mode (you will see an "Advanced" link next to your search), then you'll probably have to click on "More " and then find the custom field. If it doesn't appear there, then you'll have to click on "Advanced" and search for the field by name using JQL.
