Is it possible to search and replace user macros?

Arne Laske April 22, 2016

If yes, how?
If no, why not?

Or is there any possibility to use regular expressions in a search query?

Since confluence adds a random macro IDs for every macro used, it's not possible to mass replace macros using the "search and replace plain text" function (this would be my workaround).

Just in case someone stumbles across this post: Since version 1.5, both regex and user macro are supported.

Hi, due to the internal structure of confluence, we do not support replacing user macros.

Also, we apply only regular string replace, no regex as that is usually the more common application.

If you need these features, feel free to send us an e-mail with a feature request at office[at]rumpelcoders.at

Best, Lukas
