Is it possible to import and export from confluence

R Breeuwsma November 28, 2012

Currently we are running confluence on a server external.
But the company would like to run confluence on a server internal.

Is it possible to export the users, template and database form external to the confluence server internal?
And if its possible, can you explain how it works?

Hi,

I believe this documentation and the ones it links to, explains how it can be done with Confluence: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Site+Backup+and+Restore

Please let me know if this is what you were looking for.

Cheers,

Peter

that's creat but how do i get these files if they are on the online server from atlassian?

This is the problem: Download of the backup to a custom location is currently disabled for security reasons. See the documentation for instructions on how to change this.

I've read the information, but i can't acces these files.

Hi,

Sorry I was not aware that you are running an ondemand instance. For acquiring your XML backup, please open a ticket for the ondemand team at http://support.atlassian.com and they will provide you the steps and data required for you to migrate the instance to your server.
