Is it possible to embed an excel file into confluence and have it update every time it is saved?

I have a list of existing documents hosted on a shared drive that I want to integrate into Confluence. Is it possible to link or embed those files so that every time someone edits the file in the shared drive it is updated in confluence. I tried the Excel Macro but it did not update the file.
