Is it possible copy a space from OnPremise to OnDemand?

James Hurrell December 10, 2014

We are a software company considering using Confluence OnDemand for our documentation needs (see my question here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/11441578) while retaining our on premise instance.

We are considering using this method: we would use OnDemand just to publish documentation to the public (i.e to publish documentation for our already released software versions) and use our existing in house instance to edit unreleased documentation versions. We would therefore need to be able to periodically transfer an entire space from OnPremise to OnDemand (i.e. when previously unrelased documentation needs to be publised). Is this possible - and if so, how can it be done?

You can use the Confluence Command Line Interface (CLI) to copy selected pages or a space. For instance, use the copySpace action noting the targetServer and related parameters. It supports a replace option.

Hi James,

Have you seen this knowledge base article before: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Importing+a+Confluence+Space

It pretty much describes what you're trying to do.
