Is Atlassian Cloud and Confluence Cloud the same?

Jeremy Elias Döhling October 9, 2018

Hello there!

We`re thinking about the movement from confluence server to confluence cloud. We checked the differences between both here and read that the directory integration is only available from G Suite and not from AD.

So we searched for other options and found this documentation. There you can read that it is possible to integrate AD in Atlassian Cloud, but does Atlassian Cloud and Confluence Cloud mean the same?

Thanks in Advance!

No, they are not the same.

Atlassian Cloud is a service you buy from Atlassian.  When you do, you can choose what Applications to use within that service.  Confluence Cloud is one of the Applications (Jira Core, Software, and Service Desk, as well as Access, Bitbucket and others are available too)

Thanks for your answer.

Do you know whether you can integrate the AD to Confluence Cloud? The integration to Atlassian Cloud seems to be available.

Best regards
