Installing Confluence 4.1 and MS SQL 2008 R2

Liby Mathew December 24, 2011

Hi,

I am new to both confluence and SQL. I was wondering if there was a step-by-syep guide to configure Confluence 4.1 and MS SQL 2008 R2.

Thank you

Hi Liby,

The generic instructions for configuring Confluence with an external database are available at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Database+Setup+For+Any+External+Database and there are specific instructions for MS SQL at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Database+Setup+for+SQL+Server. There is also a Knowledge Base article for specific issues with MS SQL at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Known+Issues+For+SQL+Server

The guides at the links above do not mention specific versions of MS SQL, but Confluence supports MS SQL 2005 and above, including 2008 R2, so they should cover the information you need.

Hope that helps,

Andrew.

Is this good enough? http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA044/Connecting+JIRA+to+SQL+Server+2005

Is SQL Server 2008 very different compared to SQL Server 2005?
