There is also a Knowledge Base article for specific issues with MS SQL at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Known+Issues+For+SQL+Server
The guides at the links above do not mention specific versions of MS SQL, but Confluence supports MS SQL 2005 and above, including 2008 R2, so they should cover the information you need.
